My holiday recount
My holiday
Was poppa and my's drift wood hunt successful?Well, here is the story that should explain it all.
It was a warm day at the beach in Whanganui. Poppa and I had decided to drive to the beach and search for driftwood for poppa to polish and sell.
We were looking around, and I decided to come back, closer to poppa. But almost immediately the damp wood he was standing on collapsed beneath him and he fell on his back. I helped him up, and, luckily he only grazed his elbow. It had some dark red blood coming out, but nothing too serious. We found one stick, yes, one stick he could sell as a walking stick.
The warm wind was covering us in sea spray.
The second beach was covered in more sticks,
but still no luck. After that we decided to called it a day.

WALT hook our readers using only a question
I wonder what made that noise?
I am watching T.V.,it is 8:45 pm… it can't be the birds, they should be asleep. Perhaps it is the cat… it’s getting nearer and louder. It sounds kind of metallic, so it must be on the roof.
It's very annoying. Hmmm… I should check what's making that noise, before it gets on my nerves. As I walk outside I see the cats eyes flashing in the light of the house while he sits on the fence. Right. So that's crossed of the list.
“BAAACAAW!”I hit the deck immediately,as I humongous flock of sea birds dive bomb me and the house. Feathers, feathers everywhere! My face is being smacked by thousands of sea smelling wings as they crowd the house. There is barely any breathing space,as I get a beak to the forehead. Never mind,I guess birds do stay up late some days.
The aftermath isn't pretty. Poop and feathers are everywhere. Even some fishy vomi-never mind. I'll just leave it as this: Me and my parents have a lot of cleaning to do.ALOT.

Poetry workshop T2
WALT:When I write a poem I will notice and identify the tense in a sentence. I will replace the words to change the tense of the sentence in the poem.
First we had to choose a writing workshop.I chose the poetry workshop with Mr.Wallace because I enjoy writing poems because they are creative.
In poetry workshop we had to make a poem about autumn. We felt and looked at some autumn related things. We had to brainstorm some related words and go through our poems and edit them. Then we went back outside to take pictures of some autumn related stuff like trees and flowers.
Next we had to sketch the pictures and write the poem on an A3 piece of paper and make a border. Here is a photo of mine.

Writing
In room 9 we had to write a story about a duck, jandals and a key.
Here is mine
The curse of the haunted jandals
The duckmobile had bursted it's turbo boosters. The duck was upset. “Serves you right for not paying bills!”said Batman, biking past.He was on an empty road, the only civilization a cheap three star hotel. He waddled across the desert like road, not bothering to check for cars. The little bell rang as he opened the door with his green-feathered wing. “I-QUACK!er,sorry,please excuse me.I would like one room please.”He said to the old rabbit receptionist.
“ID please sir,”said the gentle old rabbit. He shoved the ID card in her little grey paw. “Wait...are you outlawed duck Joe?She said in a surprised manner. “I was never here.”he quacked to her, handing her a wad of cash. “Room 1149”she said handing him the key. “Never-QUACK-Here!”He repeated as he shuffled away through the hallway.
He had recently robbed a bank,so he was quite stressed. He decided to take a nap.He was not sleeping well though…“quack...no!Not my webbed feet!NO!NOT THE FEET!!” He awoke with a start, facing the roof.
“Wha-whaa-what?”He saw shoe shaped mud tracks sticking to the roof. They read:YOUR LITTLE DUCK FEET WILL NEVER BE SAFE AGAIN! “Yeah right, probably just some vandals.”He muttered. “MORE LIKE JANDALS!”Boomed a deep voice when he opened the door to leave. He walked down the hall to the reception. “Hey,old rabbit, your room is haunted!”He said as he opened the door. “Argh!”He cried in shock as he saw a rabbit paw lying on the ground. “Wait….are those rubber thongs?”He was freaked.Joe the duck ran out to his duckmobile, scrambling in the escape pod. “Satnav, autopilot home!” He yelled at the computer on the pod. “Sorry, I did not understand that. Here are some websites related to “Satnav autopilot home”Siri replied. He hit the gas and was off down the road.
He arrived at his house 1 hour later. He walked to his door step. “Aaaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh!”he squealed at the sight of his favourite jandals. In fright he jumped so high he went to deep space never to be seen of again!
My next step is probably to make a longer story.

He ran, petrified and dived into a group of bushes.
He was cut by a yaka, dripping on his half-eaten tuxedo “fee fi fo fum I smell a human bun!” Someone taunted. He cautiously proceeded and met a cat named “puss” they walked out into the clearing. “What-are ye doin’ in me swamp!?’Shrek reached and-CHOMP!
